Recommendations for upholstery

Recommendations for upholstery of fabrics of Polyolefin material (Polypropylene).

With the experience of more than 25 years manufacturing textiles of Polyolefin material (Polypropylene), Exit Fabrics recommends to our customers to reinforce the seams with a double overlock and with an additional support. Another possibility that would provide the upholstery a superior finish and greater durability would be to put foam or a stabilizing mesh (see finishes). Due its “intrinsic” characteristics being a plastic material, this textile could be opened by sliding seams, these are the same characteristics that give it a magnificent durability and a better aging than other synthetic fibers.

Recommendations of use and maintenance

Maximum washng temperature 30ºCAny bleach allowedDo not ironDry cleaning

Polyolefin articles are suitable for outdoors, since, if they get wet, they dry without the humidity affecting them. Polyolefin fibre is produced by extrusion (mass dyeing), so that it has better solidity to light than conventional fibres made with thread dying or by piece. The recommended colours for outdoors are natural ones, beiges or greys, since in these ranges of colours, the variation of colour due to the impact of UV rays (ultraviolet) is much less visible optically. In contrast we should avoid reds, blues and greens, where according to each colour (they do not all have the same variation) and according to the intensity of the colour, there may be a variation of colour visible after 480 hours of solar exposure, the equivalence to the hours of solar exposure, according to the standard EN ISO 105-B04.

Vacuum regularly. In case of stains, use a damp cloth with neutral soap suitable for cleaning of upholstery products.

Colour matching

Variations can occur from batch to batch (3%).
