Our commitment to the planet: recycled fabrics and environmental care
The natural environment is a source of inspiration for the colors, fabrics and textures with which we work. We want it this to last and continue to surprise us with changing tones, to continue providing us with ideas and materials to reflect them in fabrics. It is why one of our basic principles is the respect for nature
and our commitment to caring for the environment.
It is for this we have carried out different actions with which we contribute our grain of sand to take care of the planet. We are pioneers in the manufacture of recyclable upholstery, made with polyolefinic material, as well as in offering our customers a special service for recycling. We also are an OEKO-TEX certified
company.
At Exit Fabrics we carry environmental awareness in our DNA and we try to make this noticeable in our product, from the beginning of its production to the end of its life cycle.
Caring for the environment, part of ours DNA
For us the fundamental thing is that our fabrics are of high quality, but we believe that this is not incompatible with being respectful with the environment. In this sense, we have translated this awareness into the production of recyclable fabrics and from recycled materials.
We are proud to always be able to offer the quality that characterizes us as textile manufacturers in Barcelona with an eye on our planet. We offer products with recycled yarns according to the GRS (Global Recycled Standard) certification.
This certificate is voluntary and sets requirements for third-party certification for recycled content, chain of custody, social and environmental practices, as well as chemical restrictions.
In addition, we have the “Active Recycling Cycle” among our services for the recycling of polyolefinic material with which we manufacture personalized and custom fabrics that dress your spaces like you always had dreamed of.
- We send a 100% recyclable bag-container according to the regulations established by the European Union.
- When the bag is full of the leftover remains of the polyolefinic and cotton fabrics, and the recyclable upholstery, we collect it to take care of taking it to a recycling plant in Barcelona.
- The client receives complete information with the date on which all the material has been recycled, in this way it is ensured that this material has a second life cycle.
Take care of the oceans by buying recycled fabrics
Our philosophy is that we can always go further. We apply it to the range of colors, to the variety of finishes, to all the fabrics we manufacture…and too to our environmental awareness.
From Exit Fabrics we offer recycled fabrics with the SEAQUAL INITIATIVE classification, an initiative that is unique worldwide to actively collaborate with the cleaning of the seas and oceans of our planet. These fabrics are made with a yarn that has been manufactured from products recovered from the seas and oceans around the world.
Our environmental awareness increases, if possible, when it comes to caring for the seas. We are lucky to be able to enjoy the Mediterranean Sea a few kilometers from our factory and it gives us special inspiration and a unique character.
We believe that we owe a debt to our planet in response to all that it brings us, and especially to the seas. Using SEAQUAL INITIATIVE products is tantamount to getting involved in removing plastics from the bottoms and the ocean surface, and we are happy to be able to turn them into custom recycled fabric pieces for our customers.
OEKO-TEX certified company
In our manufacturing process for recycled fabrics or recyclable upholstery, we have a certificate that guarantees that our yarns and dyes meet the environmental standards accepted by the European Union.
We are part of an international union of OEKO-TEX certified companies. Thus, our client knows that the production of our fabrics does not include certain chemicals that are harmful to the environment. They are fabrics known to be chemically safe.
We are aware that our planet needs more attention and sensitivity from all of us, therefore, from our possibilities, we try to take care of it as much as possible. In addition to all our initiatives to achieve recycled fabrics or recycled upholstery, and to be part of the Oeko-tex certified companies, we have developed the “Slow Fabrics” concept. In this way, we value the producers in our environment and limit the carbon footprint of the transport of materials.
